Catching Up

I've been under the weather for the last week or so, as well as working on a couple projects that I can't post online (due to the magazines' "never-before-seen" submission rules) hence my lack of posting. But today I can share the last two layouts I did for the Chit Chat Challenge blog. This one was for last week's challenge about family moments.

This is a photo of my sister Vernell and I and two of our cousins, taken back in 1985 (I think).

The second one is for the current challenge which was posted today.

Hope you'll join in this week! If my day goes as planned I will be back with another project to share later.

Little Christmas Trees

My obsession with making Christmas decor continues.

Who can resist a miniature Christmas tree?

I've seen these paper strip trees online for a couple years. I decided to add some flowers, as well as glitter to mine. I used a tiny painted pot as the base. The shape is a styrofoam cone available at craft stores. I used 1"x3" strips gently folded and regular pins to stick to the foam. The star is a chipboard shape from Magistical Memories which I covered in glitter.

This paper flower tree is a variation on the button tree made by Tia Bennett. Again, a styrofoam cone, using pearl headed pins to attach them. Then painted randomly with glue and glitter added. Another painted pot as the base. I do have a button tree in progress, but ran out of buttons and pins, so I will finish and post it another day.

This is a pinecone I found outside, decorated with red and green glitter glue. The star is American Crafts chipboard covered in glitter.

I really can't seem to stop myself with Christmas related projects lately. I'm having a great time!

Christmas Pretties

Oh how I love Christmas! I've been working on these the last few days, and have ideas brewing for even more!

On the balls and teardrop I used Paper Salon rub-ons, and glitter, ribbon and beads from my stash. The snowflakes were plain felt, I added glitter and Heidi Swapp bling. The star and tree were made from chipboard and are covered in collage papers from Alpha Stamps and decorated with stickers and glitter from my stash.

To display them I found a dead dry branch outside and painted it with white acrylic paint.

Mini Canvas

I bought this mini canvas (3"x3.5") and easel at the 2€ store because I thought it was cute. I played a bit yesterday and came up with this piece.
The collage image and the crown stamps are from Alpha Stamps. The stickers are from my stash. I really wish I grabbed more canvases that day, they're all gone now!

Making a start

I'm getting started early on Holiday projects this year. This may not be early for some people, but for me this is something of a record!

Easy Magnets

Turn puffy stickers into cute magnets. I had this idea hit me a while back, and it's one of the few things that I managed to get done in the last week (I've been fighting off a cold since the day after Halloween; the cold is winning). I used a sheet of puffy stickers by SEI, raw chipboard and small magnets I bought at the craft store.

1. Peel stickers off sheet
2. Stick to chipboard
3. Cut out
4. Use strong adhesive to stick magnet to back (I used Ranger Glossy Accents, but plan to try my glue gun next time)

Voila! Easy peasy, mac & cheesy!

It's Friday so that means time for another Chit Chat Challenge. Check us out here, a prize box of vintage goodies is up for grabs. Here's my layout
